China Glaze Hunger Games Swatches Pt. 2

Hi and welcome back for Part 2 of our Hunger Games nail polish swatches. We hope you aren't too bored of these yet. Jump below to see the final 6 colors in the collection.

Harvest Moon (District 9 - Grain) is a really beautiful orange gold foil. It's kind of hard to see in this picture but the color really glows and reminds me of sun soaked what. This is definitely one of my favorites of the collection. This is 2 coats.

Fast Track (District 6 - Transportation) is a cool toned beige with gold flecks. The gold is really pretty in this one and it's a good twist on a neutral color. I don't really see what this color has to do with transportation except that it's called Fast Track. This one is somewhat sheer and I think I used 3 coats though you could probably get away with 2.

Mahogany Magic (District 7 - Lumber) - When I opened this one, my friend said, "Looks like poo." Unfortunately I have to kind of agree. Mahogany Magic a yellow based brown creme that kind of looks like runny poo in the bottle (sorry - gross, I know). The formula was very thin but did even out more in the second coat. It also dries a little darker than it looks in the bottle so it ends up looking more like melted milk chocolate. While I can see darker or warmer skin tones rocking this, it does not look good on me.

Stone Cold (District 2 - Masonry) is a matte gray polish that looks exactly like what I expected something called Stone Cold would and I think it personifies District 2's trade perfectly. Like I said, this is a matte polish, meaning it dries with no shine. If you can see it, the colors is mix of black and gray and looks a lot like asphalt. It also looks really pretty with a shiny top coat (second pic). Either way I don't think you can go wrong with this one. Oh and it's super opaque and you can probably get away with 1 coat.

Electrify (District 5 - Power) is the polish that just screams Hunger Games to me. Densely packed red and gold glitter make this polish pure awesome. This is the color I imagine Katniss to be, fire and power. There is a lot of glitter in this and two good coats are more than enough to give you glitter bomb nails. One of my faves.

Smoke And Ashes (District 12 - Mining) is a deep black with glass fleck glitter in blue and green. It was super hard for me to get a good picture of this. It's got much more depth in person and I think it's a pretty unique color.

Final thoughts: I am a nail polish junkie so combining two things I love equals a win for me. Do I love all of the colors? No. But I like most of them and found most of them to be pretty unique. I think my faves would have to be Stone Cold, Electrify, Harvest Moon, Smoke and Ashes, and Agro.

China Glaze Capital Colors should be available at most beauty supply stores such as Sally Beauty and Ulta now. You can also find the collection online as well.

What do you think? Will you be picking up any of these colors? Come back tomorrow where we will be giving away polishes from this collection. :)

  2. Thanks for sharing these posts! I had noticed they made a line for The Hunger Games but didn't think much of it. I hardly ever paint my nails anymore... BUT seeing the colors on the nails though kinda makes me want to get a couple of them! :)

  5. I bought the four pack of minis from Ulta yesterday. Agro and Smoke & Ashes were two that I was thinking of buying anyway and Luxe & Lush just looked interesting. Fast Track, the fourth in the pack, though, was one that I was not sure of. Yours is the second review of it that made it sound better than how it looks in the bottle, so I think I might like it as a neutral. I was planning on using Agro this weekend for St. Patrick's Day, and I think I might try Fast Track on my ring fingers.

  7. Love these Hunger Games nail polish reviews! Thanks for writing up your thoughts and sharing pictures of all these colors. Alas, I can never maintain painted fingernails for long, but I do like a pedi, so I'll have to keep some of these in mind... :)
