What is Children's Book Week?
Established in 1919, Children's Book Week is the longest-running literacy initiative in the country. Each year, books for young people and the joy of reading are feted for a full week with author and illustrator appearances, storytelling, parties, and other book-related events at schools, libraries, bookstores, museums, and homes from coast to coast!

- The winner must choose a children's book or books (picture book, early reader, middle grade, young adult) which includes a reading component, as opposed to a photo or pop-up book.

I had a little celebration for myself yesterday by pre-ordering a few books that I've been dying to read, such as Shadows and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, Darkness before Dawn by J.A. London and The Selection by Kiera Cass!

ReplyDeleteI read to my daughter every night and she is just starting to learn to read herself. I am very exited about that. I want to raise her to be a book worm like her mommy. I have come across a couple of great new kiddies books that I will be adding to her book case this month.

ReplyDeleteby snatching my niece's books and reading them! Actually, it's re-reading. The books were mine (Enid Blyton's Famous Five!) - they were quite old and I gave the incomplete series to them just so I could introduce them to a world of reading. Re-reading the books are really nostalgic!
