In My Mailbox (17)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren (inspired by Alea at Pop Culture Junkie) where you can show off the books that you got last week.

Signed copies:

So on November 16, I got to see Laini Taylor at the Barnes & Noble Americana. Isn't she adorable?

Lots more photos here from Katie Ferguson.

So I got a signed copy of Days of Blood & Starlight :)

I also went to a signing at Vromans where Carrie Arcos and Ann Stampler talked about their books.
I already have Ann's (actually I have 2!) so I just got Carrie's. Out of Reach was a finalist for the National Book Award in the Young Readers category this year. I couldn't get great photos as I was a few rows back and it was a bit too dark in the events area for my phone to focus properly.

For Review:

I also got a copy of The Farm by Emily McKay. Thanks to Penguin Teen for including us in the blog tour. Check back on Wednesday, November 28 for an exclusive guest post and giveaway from the author!

Traded:

I traded a few books for a hardcover copy of Insurgent by Veronica Roth and Slide by Jill Hathaway.
Many thanks to @deadtossedwaves

Purchased:

I also bought the newest picture book by one of my favorite artists, Oliver Jeffers
The Moose Belongs to Me reminds me a lot of my relationship with my cat, hahaha.

Borrowed:

I'm still a book behind in Lauren Oliver's Delirium series, but my friend Jen loaned me the third book anyway. I better get cracking on Pandemonium! Thank you, Jen!

I didn't go to a bookstore for Shop Small Saturday, but I found some lovely things at my LYS, Unwind on Hollywood Way in Burbank:

Sol Degrade and Taria Tweed

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate that :)

So what's in your mailbox?

  5. The Moose Belongs to Me is adorable. We have it at the library where I work. I'm really interested in Slide, and I do want to read it. It looks like something I would like.

    Happy reading :)

    1. I've heard mixed reviews about Slide, but whatever. I'll try anything once.

I think my Cat might be part-Moose. :P

    1. The sale section was pretty picked over by the time I arrived (the last hour the store was open) but I found a whole pile of pink tweed for 50%off. I think I finally get to make my Central Park Hoodie. Good deal!

Yeah I know it's soooo hard to be good but it's Oliver <3
