Stacked (11)

Stacked is our sister site's mailbox sharing weekly feature.
In My Mailbox is now hosted at The Mod Podge Bookshelf!

Click on the text links to view the books' descriptions on Goodreads.

Purchased:

I went to the Mrs. Nelson's Book Fair Warehouse sale this week and picked up quite a stack! It's their annual event where they give 40-70% off everything in stock. If you're in the SoCal area, definitely sign up for their newsletter to get an alert for the next one! You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

Picture books:
Someone pointed out that some of my purchases make a book spine poem. Totally by accident! (Try it out; but read the last 3 lines as questions.)

Middle Grade and Young Adult*:
I also attended Elizabeth Ross's Belle Epoque launch party at Skylight Books, so I came away with a copy of that and also the picture book The Mighty Lalouche. The party was great and they served delectable chocolate and strawberry macarons from McCall's on Hillhurst. I didn't take a photo of the strawberry macarons; I was too busy eating them! And Aly was nervous about mispronouncing "macaron".

How to pronounce macaron:

Just kidding! Here's the real one, though they give the English pronunciation and not the French:

And just because it's beautiful, the Belle Epoque trailer.

I actually got an extra one from Berkley, so I'll be running another giveaway!

Special announcement:

If you're in Los Angeles, remember to stop by Vroman's Bookstore in Pasadena around 7 pm on Thursday, June 20 for The Wig in the Window launch party! Kristen Kittscher has an especially fun program planned and I am so excited to see her book finally come out. And for those of you following the blog tour, catch up with recent posts (now linked directly!) here.
