I love reading Young Adult Fiction (particularly SciFi/Fantasy), Middle Grade Fiction, Contemporary Literary Fiction, Mysteries, Math, and Science. I also don't mind receiving e-ARCS (secure PDFs are fine) since I have a Sony Pocket to read them on. I have a Kindle, too.
I'm a former bookseller, and I remain active particularly among YA readers and authors, through various book clubs, online communities (including All Things YA) and author signings in and around Los Angeles.
I have also designed a website for author Ann Stampler. Web design is a hobby for me, and I only take on projects I find fun and satisfying to complete!
My ARCs are either raffled off or passed on to booksellers/educators/other bloggers and are not sold. I buy a majority of the books I review, and borrow some from the library. Sometimes I will keep the ARC and buy a finished copy to raffle or donate.
If you are an author or publicist with a major publishing house and would like to send an ARC for an honest review, please email frootjoos [at] gmail [dot] com. Acceptance of an ARC does not mean I will give it a positive review.
Indie authors take note: I'm also wary of self-published books; if I don't say yes after you query--don't take it personally. I have a lot to read already and I'm picky with self-pubbed novels that have not been vetted by someone I know and whose reading tastes I can agree with. Sorry!
Hi, I'm Thuy - sounds like twee. Not thigh, thooey, thwee or any other weird combination of sounds that you might think of. I usually read Young Adult Fiction (Sci Fi/Fantasy in particular, Literary Fiction, Comics/Graphic Novels, Mysteries, Cookbooks and have recently discovered Romance (mostly paranormal though I do like a good contemporary or mystery romance).
I pretty much buy or borrow all of the books I read. I have a Kindle as well and love it for its portability and convenience, though nothing can replace the awesomeness of a real, physical book in my hand.
I am a lifelong reader. I can't remember a time when I didn't love reading. Some of my earliest memories of childhood are coming home from the library with stacks of books or going to the comic shop for my weekly haul. To me, reading is an escape but it's also a way to stretch my imagination and challenge myself to think in new ways.

If a book keeps me from falling asleep until dawn, I must have loved it!
It's really good. I like sleepy time, but I like this book more.
I like it, but I'm not going to miss school/work/etc. just to finish it in one sitting.
I'm not into it. But it's not a complete snooze.
So boring, I couldn't even keep my eyes open. Someone else's cup of tea.
Contest Policy
We pick winners via random.org or rafflecopter.com.
We will state where we will be able to ship the prize. It's usually US/Canada.
Email addresses/mailing addresses and all personal info you provide will be used only for prize notification and delivery. If you're under 13, please check with a responsible adult/parent/guardian before submitting your email address to an entry form.
If you accept/win an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) from me, you swear to abide by The Rule: ARCs may not be resold! It's yours, or if you must pass it on, please give it to a book blogger/educator/librarian who can give it a good home. :)
Good luck!
